WolfPack: Rules

WolfPack is governed by sets of rules which guide us and help us when decisions need to be made.

These rules were created by WolfPack members, they are here to protect the clan from both people external to the clan and internal domestic incidents.

WolfPack Rules Terminology

  • The following terms (but not limited to just these terms) "WolfPack", "organisation", "clan", "squadron", "organisation", "guild", "club", "group" all represent the WolfPack website (http://www.wolfpack.net.au and all other domain names) and subfolders of that website, including (but not limited to) the forums.

  • The following terms (but not limited to just these terms) "you", "player", "clan member", "person" represents the person that has joined the clan and or visitor to the website.

  • "Ban" or "Banned" represents when a player has had their right to be apart of the clan revoked for a certain period of time - all bans are from voice communications, forums, game server(s), websites or any other resource that is apart of WolfPack.

  • The following terms (but not limited to just these terms) "Meta-Gaming","Ghosting", "screen watching" ,"eves dropping" represents when a player has obtained specific information about another players activities/resources and uses it to their own or their teams distinct advantage.

  • "Slutting" is a term used by gamers when a player is asked to play for another clan.

  • "Voice Communications" - represents the use of "Teamspeak" or any other voice communication software used by the clan.

  • No spamming
    • Definition: Spam - "Any post that is either singular or repetitive in nature that causes the forums to be unnecessarily filled without a reasonable cause." This is not to be confused with single line responses that assist in the continuation of a conversation or topic.
    • Definition: Spam - "Voice communication spam is usually decided by the group of people present in the channel at the time but as a guideline voice communication spam is useless screaming or talk about any topic that disturbs the channel and it’s users or an action which causes the server to be used unnecessarily"

  • "Website" represents all viewable content under any of the WolfPack owned domains eg, forums, web pages etc.

  • The following terms (but not limited to just these terms) "Cheating", "Hacking", "Glitching", "Exploiting" etc.

    Definition: Cheating is defined by the developer of the game - if a developer of a game is not clear on a certain aspect of the game then the definition of cheating falls upon the gaming communities view.

    The above does not include modification of files or memory space - this is considered outright cheating.

WolfPack General Rules

The term ‘group’ or ‘clan’ are used throughout this website but means the same thing.

  • Anyone who has been convicted of child offences is NOT welcome to apply and/or join the clan, by your acceptance of the rules of WolfPack you indicate that you have NOT BEEN convicted of any such offence.

  • Anyone who is currently in the clan and becomes convicted after acceptance into the clan of any child offences must notify the clan leader immediately and forfeit their position in the clan.

  • WolfPack will assist with any legal investigation of any member and their activities within the clan.

  • Multiclanning is NOT allowed, if you are in another clan at the time you join WolfPack you must leave that clan prior to the completion of your Personality Trial, failure to do so will result in a kick from WolfPack.

  • Nothing is to be kept secret in the clan - keep all topics in the open, this includes but is not limited to forums, voice communications and/or messages.
    • Exception: Discretion - The only time a topic is to be discussed in private is when a topic requires a certain level of discretion. Reasons: prevention of unnecessary harm/hurt to the person(s) involved in the topic.

  • The swapping of personal information amongst clan members IS allowed but it is HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED. WolfPack recommends you DO NOT SHARE the following information:
    • First names
    • Last names
    • Address information
    • Phone numbers (including mobiles, pagers etc)
    • Personal/Business Website address and/or email accounts
    • Photos
    • Any information that can be linked to you

    Any sharing of your personal information is at your OWN RISK. THE RISK LEVEL WHEN SHARING PERSONAL INFORMATION ONLINE IS HIGH AND VERY DANGEROUS. Please consider the story of the online gamers David Heiss who stabbed Matthew Pyke 86 times.

  • The swapping or sharing of other peoples personal information IS PROHIBITED. Examples of, but not limited to the following examples:
    • taking photos from other peoples social media accounts and using them as teamspeak avatars
    • linking of other peoples social media accounts

    Any sharing of others personal information will attract an immediate 24 hour ban, and continued non-compliance will result in removal from WolfPack.

  • Meeting fellow clan members in real life:
    It is highly recommended that you DO NOT MEET fellow clan members offline as it could be highly dangerous to do so.

  • Peoples family matter(s), school work, home work and everyday living work comes before WolfPack matters. WolfPack is considered a lower priority then those matters.

  • These rules can and will change at any time without notice, it is the members responsibility to keep up to date with them, not the clans responsibility to notify you about the changes.

  • You are able to have more then 1 gaming handle but a good majority of people must know who you are (It is recommended that you only have 1 gaming handle for all games).

  • If you are given an instruction you must follow it immediately with a highly rational approach.

  • If you are kicked from the clan you are not allowed back in - unless circumstances permit otherwise.

  • If someone asks you to stop doing an action, you must comply and do not continue. A person has the right to make a formal complaint against someone in WolfPack if this rule is not followed.

  • If you leave the clan you may come back once, but you cannot repeatedly leave and come back.

  • WolfPack clan tags are allowed to be different for each division but the tags must be the same for the whole division (no mixed tags in the same division).
    • All WolfPack members HAVE TO carry their clan tags all the time - unless cicrcumstances permit otherwise

  • Clan meetings will be held on scheduled days.

  • Members of the clan have the right to request changes to the WolfPack rules. Any "change of rules" request must be done in the administration section of the forums and requires a minimum of 2 weeks open discussion for all members opinions to be considered in response to the application.

    The forum post must be in the following template format:

    Message body: I hereby propose the following changes to the rules

  • The rules of WolfPack are used to govern how the clan is run, in the event of a discrepancy, or if a situation arises where a topic is not covered by the rules the clan/group leaders decision will be the final say on any such matters.

  • You release WolfPack (and every person who is involved in the clan) from any and all responsibilities and/or liabilities (e.g. Legal, moral etc). You join this clan at your own risk. The services are provided ‘as is’

  • You agree that you give all control of your viewing of the WolfPack website over to the administrators of the website.

  • WolfPack administrators can terminate your access to the website and any other services at any time without notice and warning.

  • Your use of this website is for personal use only. If the purpose of your visiting this website is to use the information for malicious or other intent against any member or non-member, then you must leave immediately and/or you will be asked to leave immediately.

  • All rules MUST and WILL be followed by all members of the clan - regardless of rank - if they are not you will be removed from the clan.
    • You will never be given an instruction that you cannot carry out.
    • You will never be given an instruction that you do not have enough time to do it in.
    • If you need help fulfilling a particular instruction, then ASK for help, if one member of the clan cannot help you, another member surely can.

  • If ANY member has ANY problem with another member of the group, speak to an administrator or another clan member about it! Try and work it out, we are here to have fun and enjoy the activities of the clan.

  • Members are not allowed to have multiple WolfPack accounts or identities within the group - one identity per person (you are not allowed to have 2 or more online identities in the group at the same time).

  • WolfPack does not care what your race, color, religion, sex or age you are, we do not judge you based on your rank or score (if applicable):

    • WolfPack DOES care about your:
      • ability to play in a team
      • How you treat your fellow members
      • ability to follow orders

      • manner in which you win

  • Every member of the clan is responsible for the safety of members - report any suspicious behaviour to the clan immediately.

WolfPack Conflict Resolution Rules

These rules are to be used in case of a conflict between sets of members.

  • A conflict is to be defined as any situation where two or more people have a disagreement ending in some form of hostility.

  • In the event of a conflict any high level ranking officer should be contacted.

  • In the event of a conflict the following steps can be taken:

    1. Identify the conflicting individuals or parties involved.
    2. Divide the conflicting parties - if necessary lock any thread or move people out of the teamspeak rooms
    3. Identify the causes and or reasons for the conflict from each party involved.
    4. Itemise each fact from each side into two seperate lists.
    5. Find common ground to the problem - if necessary use a third party to negotiate between the conflicting parties.
    6. Attempt solution finding by discussing the matter and utilisation via step 5.
    7. If a solution cannot be found then the matter is raised to the higher ranks this includes generals but is not limited to these.
    8. If all previous steps fail to resolve the situation then WolfPack General rules item will be invoked.
      The rules of WolfPack are used to govern how the organisation is run, in the event of a discrepancy, or if a situation arises where a topic is not covered by the rules the C.I.C decision will be the final say on any such matters.

  • If a current WolfPack rule is broken and is not dealt with within 7 days of being found out by the administration, the person that has broken the rule is not to be punished or have a lesser punishment - situation depending

If a member is placed on a ban - this means they are banned from any voice communications server(s), forums, website, and they are prohibited from playing with the clan for the duration of their ban.
A ban from the forums means you can 'read' the forums but not 'post' because it is the only way to measure a breach.

If a ban is breeched then the next stage of discipline is automatically put into place.

WolfPack Forum Rules

  • A roll call of names will be done once each month on the month. If you miss 3 consecutive roll calls in a row your name will be added to a cull list.
    • Exception: you must have placed a post explaining long term absence

    • Height: 150px. (No smaller, no larger)

    • People who are on probationary trials need to wait until their probationary trial is over before putting on a signature

    Illegal program downloads and file sharing

    All matters relating to ANY ILLEGAL ACTIVITY WILL BE IMMEDIATLY REPORTED TO THE AUSTRALIAN FEDERAL POLICE along with any I.P. associated to the member

  • No abuse is allowed on the forums (this includes flaming) - it will not be tolerated. Respectable posts only - any abusive or foul posts will be removed and account disabled depending upon the offence.

  • Thread Hijacking - a deliberate attempt to hijack forum threads is not allowed - this is not to be confused when a topic evolves from one topic to another on the one thread. If possible thread changing should be avoided.

  • Any deleted posts must be moved to the "archive" area of the forum incase retrieval is necessary.

  • Editing posts:
    • Singular Edits: any post that is edited (modified) by a moderator must contain a "This post was modified by {{NAME}}" and then the message. Note: placing a modified message is a common courtesy to the original writer - in the note, it must contain the reason behind the editing of a post/and any future message.

  • When a topic is locked- it is finished and people are not allowed to post to it or start a secondary thread that continues on the topic.

  • When a ban is placed against a member the post must be made in the ‘Administration’ room and needs to include the following:
    • Persons name giving the ban
    • Person name receiving the ban
    • Ban length in hours
    • Ban start time (date and time)
    • Ban end time (date and time)
    • Ban reason - include a full description, location of incident and people involved.
    • Rules violated (copy and paste rule)

WolfPack Gaming Code of Conduct Rules

all conduct rules below are considered with the following context 'if it applies'

Whinging

  • Everyone - regardless - gets annoyed at others game play - do not whinge about it, grow up and move on.

General Game Play

  • In game text/voice
    • Never use the in game text/voice to sort out your problems with other players this includes (but is not limited to):
      • Calling people hacks.
      • Trying to convince everyone to kick a person.

  • Never punish any other player (team kill punish) - doesn't matter who's fault it is
    • Exception: If the same person deliberately team kills you 3 or more times repeatedly with a clear and deliberate act then you are allowed to punish.

      This exception is void if you deliberately team kill yourself - For example: you run over your own teams mines repeatedly and get team killed.

  • Players will be mindful, respectful and courteous of their team mates and will not team kill.

  • If you play a game and WIN: it is a good game. If you play a game and LOSE: it is a still a good game.

  • Players will act in a respectful, sportsmanship, mature way. Do not act like a ‘tool’, ‘tard’ and/or ‘immature’ child.

  • You do not team kill any player on your team
    • take screen shots and report them to the administrator of the server.
    • If applicable get the players Punk Buster ID (access console with the tild key (~ left of the 1 key) and type "/pb_plist" and get their PB ID and give that along with the screenshots to the server administrator).
    • Exception:
      • A team kill is allowed if both of the following conditions are met:
        1. The person you are going to team kill is lagging the game because they are performing a certain task - which is affecting everyone.
        2. The person has been warned 3 times in team chat.

WolfPack Human Rules

Note: These rules have deliberatly been left ambiguous - and any decision in relation to these rules should be made with compassion, empathy, understanding and above all wisdom.

  • "To err is human; to forgive, divine."(Alexander Pope). Being apart of WolfPack is to be human.

  • A 7 day grace period should be given to members who make stupid mistakes - this is conditional to a 3 strikes out count.

    This grace period can be enacted on by a General of WolfPack on behalf of the member that has caught foot in mouth, if they fail to do so.

  • WolfPack understands that judgements by members can be made in haste, that conditions are not always perfect and that mis-understanding is the reason.

  • When a member cannot demonstrate the values & creed of WolfPack, then it is up to rest of WolfPack to demonstrate what it means to be a member - and to lead by example. Members of WolfPack are to demonstrate compassion, empathy, understanding and forgiveness, with an ability to reach across the gap and build bridges of faith & trust. Faith that there will always be a better tomorrow, & trust that WolfPack will have your best interests online at heart.

WolfPack Recruitment Rules

In order to join WolfPack you must meet these rules and requirments

  • Members must be 18 years of age or older to join.

  • A broadband internet connection (e.g adsl/cable etc).

  • A computer strong enough to run the game of the division you want to join.

  • A clear microphone and clean sounding speakers for voice communications.

  • You must have a certain maturity level - if you fail on this you will be asked to leave the clan.

  • The player must have read and understood all the rules of the WolfPack and will abide by them.

  • The understanding that WolfPack is not perfect and suffers from flaws - and that you join knowing it has flaws and you are willing to assist in the resolution of such flaws.

  • Your ‘Game Handle’ (your in-game name) must be different to your real life name.

  • Every member must try and enroll as many people into WolfPack as they can! If they say "No" (the person being asked) accept their answer and move on.If they accept, you must help them to get their:
    • Application process underway
    • WolfPack clan tags setup
    • Voice communications up and running
    • Any ladder registrations (if applicable)

General Rules

  • WolfPack is a professional clan which aims to be professional by NOT:
    • Team killing each other before or after a match begins.

  • If you put your name down for a scrim (ladder or other) you have to turn up.
    • Exception: you must have a legitimate reason e.g. family issues if you don't turn up, ‘I forgot’ isn't an excuse.

  • If you invite someone to a scrim you must tell them that it is a SCRIM when you invite them.

Scrim Practice

  • During scrim/practice sessions members will follow chain of command by:
    • Using the correct room on the voice communications server. This channel is for the CO's & Squad leaders to communicate during practices. All other questions should be directed to your designated squad leader in game or via text wherever possible.
    • Do not fire your weapon (includes ramming)until the command "weapons free" is given by your squad leader, or the CO on voice communications

    • If the command "weapons safe" is issued, players are to cease fire immediately along with any in game actions.

  • Members will be given 1 warning then banned from the voice communications server for 24 hours and removed from the scrim/practice and replaced.

WolfPack Video Submission Rules

By Submitting a video for publication you automatically agree to all of the following and indicate that your video meets these rules/requirements:

General Submission Rules

  • You grant WolfPack a fully transferable copyright licence to all aspects of the video/audio (where you have the rights to do so).

  • You indicate that the video you have provided is yours and you own the copyright.

  • You agree to all the rules of the company/business that we publish the video on (e.g. ‘YouTube’).

  • You agree NOT to include any copyrighted material that you do NOT have rights to in your submitted video(e.g. music, audio sound track etc) - (if in doubt do not include material - do no assume that someone wants their work published).

  • The video must NOT contain any content that is inappropriate or vulgar (e.g. nudity, illegal etc).

  • The video has to be submitted to one of the video administrators for verification.

  • The video must be a minimum of 15 seconds long(not including the WolfPack start-up).

  • The person submitting the video must remove all of their personal information from the video. (e.g. name, registered information etc - Please check your video properties before subitting any videos).

  • The video must not contain any footage of any real life persons.

Video Contents

The video must contain the following:

  • The WolfPack shield/howl at the start of the video (which is provided in media kit).

  • Credits for all aspects of the film at the end of the video. When including credits for external items you need to include the following:
    • Location of where you downloaded the content (e.g. music) from (the U.R.L).
    • The date you downloaded the content.
    • The licence type (GPL, Freeware etc).
    • The author of the music/video or other.
    • Any other licence agreements that are not mentioned here (if there are other requirements to using the material please include them).

WolfPack Voice Communication Rules

General Rules

  • Members are not allowed to join any other voice communications server for repeated extended times (unless other specified in game specific rules eg Mmo).
    • Exception: The only time a member of the clan is allowed on another voice communications server is if it is previously announced and a valid reason is provided.

  • When you enter a voice communication server and or room you must NOT talk, you must wait until there isa gap in the conversation to speak.

  • Raging in channel is not permitted - do not take your rage out in a voice communications channel (eg if you die).

  • Members are required to use ‘push to talk’ function in all clan hosted servers.

  • When issuing warnings for rule infringements on voice communication platforms, unless requiring instant kicks or bans, the admin shall ensure the warning is received by the offending party by correction or response. Furthermore, the admin shall use an effective method of communication that would ensure the warning would be received by the offending party.

  • Your voice communications name and in game handle(where possible) MUST match your forum name (not login).
    This rule is to be enforced within clan divisons by their appointed administrators. An exception of such would extend to competitive play roll calls and clan meetings for applicable member(s), or for any other reasons requiring the immediate attention of WolfPack administration.
    • Exception: Modification/alteration of your voice communications name is allowed on a temporary measure(an extendable period of reasonable time example 2 hours), providing a senior rank does NOT request rule compliance.
    • Exception: Modification/alteration of your voice communications name is allowed for the purpose of message conveyance, providing a senior rank does NOT request rule compliance ( example "DND-Sick" as voice communications name ).

  • Guests/recruits are allowed on the voice communication server(s) but must be unregistered.

  • When playing any game you must come on the voice communication server(s) and join the appropriate room.

  • When kicking someone from the server - a valid reason must be provided at the time of the kick. Valid reasons include:
    • Abuse - Disrespecting a member

  • No inappropriate content (Adult material(porn), hate material, racism etc - general common sense is used for deciding what is inappropriate). This includes but is not limited to screen shots, posts, forum signatures, general voice conversations or avatars etc.

    This includes but is not limited to links, general voice conversations, pictures etc.

    Illegal program downloads and file sharing

    All matters relating to ANY ILLEGAL ACTIVITY WILL BE IMMEDIATLY REPORTED TO THE AUSTRALIAN FEDERAL POLICE along with any I.P. associated to the member

  • If 2 or more groups of people are in the one gaming channel but are on different servers/teams/mods etc and their is a conflict over who should have the room then the group with the least amount of individuals needs to move to an empty general channel to resolve the issue.

  • People are not to provide links to inappropriate content (websites, bit torrents etc) within the voice communications software.

Server Administrators

  • If you are connecting to a server from a place that you would not normally connect from (e.g. Cyber Lounge) then you must NOT connect as a ‘Server Administrator’ and CANNOT ask to have your privileges updated.

  • If a dispute occurs then it is the responsibility of the available Officers to work together to resolve any disputes.

  • In the event of any issues on a voice communications server all the available Officers are to follow the conflict resolution rules.

  • Officers out rank standard members as far as a plan of action regarding issues. If a situation arises where there are no Officers or above available, but multiple ranking members of the same troop ranks, then they must come to an agreed plan of action.

  • All bans must be accompanied with a valid reason specified and a post made in the administration section of the forums regarding the ban. (See forum rules about ban posts.)
